Who we are

XCOMTB.COM is an independent UCI Mountain Bike World Cup media outlet. We publish race results, news, and coverage of the XCO and XCC World Cup season. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data we collect

Newsletter subscriptions

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use this solely to send you our weekly XCO MTB newsletter. We do not share your email address with any third party. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Race predictor

If you use our Race Predictor feature, we collect the username you choose and your podium picks (your selected riders for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). This information is displayed publicly on the predictor leaderboard. We do not collect your real name, email address, or any identifying information as part of the predictor. Usernames are limited to letters, numbers, and underscores.

Usage data

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. This collects anonymised data including pages visited, time spent on pages, and general location (country/region level). Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

How we use your data

We use the data we collect only for the following purposes:

• Sending our newsletter to subscribers who have opted in
• Displaying predictor leaderboards
• Understanding how our site is used so we can improve it

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in this policy.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the site:

• Supabase — our database provider, used to store race data, newsletter subscriptions, and predictor entries. Data is stored on servers within the EU.
• Vercel — our hosting provider.
• Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymised usage analytics.

Cookies

We use cookies for Google Analytics. No other tracking cookies are set by XCOMTB.COM. By using our site you consent to the use of analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Data retention

Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Predictor entries are retained for the duration of the relevant World Cup season and may be deleted thereafter. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention policies.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from newsletter)

Children

XCOMTB.COM is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
